 Nice candle for price! January 6, 2009
I am very pleased with this product. I bought some new string lights for my tree this year - "cool" LED. The hue was a beautiful blue and these candles were the only option to match the color. I loved the look on the outside with my tree in the window. True the intensity of the light is not the same as a classic window candle, but for the price,($8.00 for 6), and the look, they are great. Not only were they economical to buy, but I've had the same batteries in them for over 2 weeks. I was concerned that it would be a pain going to every window every day,(13) and loosening the bulb to turn them off, but after forgetting to do that a few times, I realize the battery is lasting much longer with the LED bulb! So, I just leave them on. Still much more "Earth friendly" than the old fashioned electric or battery operated,(even with timer or sensor). If they ever developed this light at this price with timer or sensor and/or more intense light, I will re-purchase!

They're pretty. As pictured, these glow blue-white, not white or flame-yellow. They do look very nice though, & I got 6 of them real cheap. You can use these as emergency or mood lighting year-round. The candles can be removed out of their base, & placed in other candle holders too.
Suction cups don't seem to work well. I leave mine just standing straight up on the window sill.
Bright as most nightlights when using 2 standard AA cells (not rechargeables). Batteries for all of them are included.
With rechargeable AAs, they glowed so dim, you'd have to go into a totally darkened room to even notice the glow.
Older, last generation, yellow, amber, orange, & green LEDs required about 2.8 volts. Newer white, blue, & deep green LEDs, like the ones in this candle require 3.6 volts. A standard AA cell has 1.5 volts, so a pair of them would be 3 volts.
Many LED lights that run on only 1 or 2 cells have a voltage boost circuit in them to get 3.6 volts to the LED bulb. The circuit also keeps the LED running at almost full throughout most of the battery's life.
I suspect these candles have no boost circuit in them. The 3 volts from the 2 AA cells go directly to the LED.
Rechargeable AA cells are only 1.2 to 1.25 volts. That's a total of only 2.4 to 2.5 volts for 2 of them. Not enough voltage to light the candle's LED.
A better design would have been to have them run on 3 AA or 3 AAA cells, to get enough voltage, or put in a boost circuit.
Also when using standard AA cells in them, when they start to grow dim, don't throw out the cells. They probably have plenty of power left to run your other stuff.

These are a poor substitute for plug-in candles. They are very dim and the suction cup doesn't stay stuck on window glass as advertised. I am considering returning them.
